Hospital staff have asked the LoF to provide a clever light box and associated computer programmes that throws light patterns onto a table with which patients interact. This stimulates hand eye co-ordination , object recognition and encourages social interaction. The equipment, a Tovertafel, is Scandinavian and has shown remarkable results in other hospitals, notably with dementia patients. The League is now busily fund raising to meet the £8,000 price tag. After a long wait, it is now in place with a demonstration due shortly so it can be put to use. We are grateful to Guildford Lions for contributing to the additional software package.
